LOCKS ON
WINDOWS & DOORS 		Securing windows against burglary is every bit as important as doorways. Your windows are just as vulnerable as your normal doorways. Consider this question - if you locked yourself out of your house, would you be able to get in through a window?
  • Windows - most locks on the newer windows are improved over the locks of older aluminum windows.
  • Patio doors - many patio doors now have multipoint locking mechanics (2 or more points locking) instead of the single-point lock of older patio doors.
GLASS By the simple fact that dual-pane glass has 2 pieces of glass instead of 1 you have more safety. In addition, there are different types of glass that you can install that makes it harder to bust the glass. In order of increased security they are
  • Thickness of glass
  • Tempered Glass
  • Laminated Glass
Screens and ventilating locks are not designed for and should never be relied upon for security.
